I have been going to GSS for over 5 years now and I love it! As a single parent trying to finish my degree, I don't have much money to spend, but I save up to go to GSS. Prices are fair, but it is still an indulgence for me but very well worth the price! Over the years Catherine has seen me through short and long, all over blonde, brown with copper and blonde highlights, all over blonde with copper, and the occasional pink and purple chunks. Right now I am sporting a more natural look with amber highlights. We use semi-perm colors to avoid damage and soften the grown-out root look. She is a GENIUS with the color and we always have fun when I decide it's time for a change. In addition to all the color fun, the cuts are wonderful. From above-the-ear short to middle-of-the-back long all cuts have been flattering and easy to style. I've asked her for everything from choppy and chucky to disconnected and edgy to sleek and sophisticated to (right now) loose and natural, cut to allow for movement and natural wave. She has never disappointed. I have had to go back once or twice because the hair didn't fall right, or I needed it shorter, but that had more to do with MY hair and what it does. Her skill makes my hair do what I want it to do, even when it gets stubborn. If there was ever a problem she was quick to rectify it. As to atmosphere, it is relaxed and comfortable, but very professional. Catherine takes pride in her work and her business. Occasionally I have had to go to another stylist (due to my last minute scheduling), but I have found that overall they are very well trained and professional. I highly recommend GSS! ~ Kinder

a military wife and thus a bit transient... and the worst part of moving
is always finding a new hairdresser! I came to Garden Street
Salon first when I moved to Pensacola (mostly because they're one of
the only salon's in town with a website) and was scheduled with Holly.
She has been doing my hair for over a year now and I've always been
thrilled! I've had color, highlights, cuts, trims, she's given me bangs...
and she's great at it all! She jokes that I was a hairdresser in my
last life because I'm always messing with it in between visits and she
never criticizes or judges when I come in with crooked bangs or a orange
tinted home dye job. She just chit chats easily with me and she makes
me look better than new! In addition, Holly's helped recommend some
great products that have really helped strengthen my fragile, blonde
hair and help me achieve any style I want-- straight or curly! I really
am impressed by Holly and will hate having to find a new hairdresser

to be very happy with my service. I get highlights every few months
and absolutely love the color products they use - it wears well and
still looks nice 8 weeks later. Catherine does a great job with my hair
in general, and I always receive nice complements because of her work!

I found GSS after going through the yellow pages and visiting their
website. I made an appointment on this past Friday and I am THRILLED
with the results!!!!!!! Catherine Harris the owner was able to give
me the perfect cut and her trusty side-kick Jackie gave the best shampoo
I have ever had! I found a picture of a short pixie cut and was amazed
at how she was able to take the picture and totally give me the same
look. She is amazing. I have always taken photos of styles to other
salons but no one has ever been able to even come close to duplicating
the picture. Catherine is a miracle worker . I have been receiving compliments
since I got out of her shop! I have given her name and number to everyone
I know! I absolutely love my hair!!!!!!!!!!!!! You guys are the best.
